Outdoor Groove Dance Events in South Cumbria
Dance outdoors in beautiful local settings with great music, fresh air, zero pressure, and a wonderfully welcoming community.
There is something extra special about stepping outside and dancing in the fresh air, swapping four walls for wide open skies and stunning local views.
Imagine standing with the breeze on your face or watching sunlight shimmer across water, completely lost in music.
Our outdoor sessions are a chance to blow away the cobwebs, enjoy a bit of time for yourself, and see our Cumbrian landscapes in a whole new way.
What is an outdoor Groove?
Outdoor Groove is a silent disco with a twist. Expect wireless headphones, great music, fresh air, and a lovely group of people sharing a delightfully joyful dance experience.
We gather in beautiful locations, connect through simple steps and movements, enjoy uplifting playlists, and dance purely for the fun of it.
With no tricky routines to learn and zero pressure to look a certain way, you have total freedom to bring your own style and energy to each track.
How does it work?
If you’ve never tried an outdoor Groove session before, you are in for a real treat. Our pop-up events offer something truly unique, and the magic really happens the moment you slip into a pair of headphones.
You’ll hear the music clearly, and I will be right there in your ears, gently guiding you through the whole session, so you’ll always know what to do. You control your own volume level, and the outside world fades away.
Simple, easy moves: You don’t need any dance experience or a perfect sense of rhythm. We all share the same basic movement to each song, so you’re never left guessing.
Your own unique style: From that starting point, you move entirely in your own way. Keep it soft and gentle, go big and expressive, or land somewhere in between.
Zero pressure: Because everyone is immersed in their own headphones, nobody is watching you. The worry about "getting it right" also disappears when you know you can’t get it wrong.
Feel completely at ease: Any initial hesitation vanishes as soon as the music starts. If passers-by spot us, they usually just give us a big smile and carry on with their day or evening!
What to wear: Dress for comfort and ease of movement. Dance barefoot or wear comfortable shoes, keeping in mind we’re on natural ground with uneven surfaces.
Cumbrian weather: We can easily get four seasons in one day! Pairing sunglasses and sunscreen with a waterproof jacket, hat, or gloves is completely normal here.
What if it rains? Our gatherings are weather permitting. If heavy rain rolls in, we can relocate to an indoor venue so we still get our groove on. We’ll always keep you posted with last-minute updates via WhatsApp.
What to bring: Bring water, juice, or a warm drink to stay hydrated. You might also want a towel, blanket, yoga mat, or camping chair for our stillness and relaxation track at the end.
How much does it cost? £12.00 per person for a 90-minute outing. Check upcoming dates below and remember to book early. Spaces are limited.
“Silent grooving outdoors is something really special! Once you pop on the headphones, you enter a magical world of music without outside distractions. Soozi guides on a few moves for each track that you do your way. Every single tune is uplifting, and the session is designed to help you move your whole body, notice your own patterns and explore different ways of moving. It’s joyful, life-enhancing and rather epic!!”

Sandside Sunset Groove
The grassy shoreline at Sandside is the perfect setting for outdoor evening dancing. We meet at the old Ship Inn car park and make our way to the large expanse of grass at the estuary's edge, well away from the road, with vast open skies and sweeping views across Morecambe Bay towards the Lake District fells. As the music fills your headphones, the shifting evening light and open space combine to create something truly magical. It is an unforgettable way to unwind, breathe in the fresh air, and dance the evening away as day turns to dusk.

Levens Deer Park Groove
Levens Deer Park is a fantastic setting for an outdoor groove dance. We meet at Levens Hall and take a short walk across the road into the deer park. Our favourite flat spot is next to a wide section of the River Kent with sunlight filtering through the trees. If you’re lucky, you might even spot deer grazing in the surrounding parkland! There’s no better start to the day than music and movement in beautiful surroundings. Afterwards, we head over to the cafe together for refreshments or brunch, making it a super sociable and fun way to spend your morning.
