About Soozi Kay
Hi, I’m Soozi Kay. For over twenty-five years, my main day job has been building websites. I love the technical side of my work, but spending hours sitting in front of a computer screen meant I needed a proper way to unwind at the end of the day.
Escaping from the desk is what first got me into classes as a participant all those years ago. And doing something fun after a long day at work completely changed things for me. I eventually turned those after-work activities into a career, helping others to feel as good as I did in class.
Whether it was building strength, finding stillness, or just letting go on the dancefloor, here is how the pieces of my journey came together.
Pole Fitness: My first love
I walked into a pole fitness class nearly two decades ago and fell in love straight away. I got completely hooked, always wanting to try the next move, the next spin, and the next challenge.
Qualifying as an instructor allowed me to take a bunch of amazing humans on an incredible journey of their own. There is nothing quite like watching someone build their physical strength, find their confidence, and realise exactly what their body is capable of achieving.
Yoga: Finding the balance
For me, Hatha Yoga became the perfect yin to pole’s yang. Where pole is all about high energy, strength, and excitement, yoga offered a quiet space to slow down and breathe.
Qualifying as a yoga teacher after Covid allowed me to share how perfectly these two practices complement each other. Together, they tick all the boxes for physical fitness and mental wellness, working wonders for flexibility, balance, and coordination, while providing a much-needed place to quiet the mind.
Groove: Pure joy
Discovering Body Groove online in early 2023 was another magical moment for me. Just twenty minutes in the morning de-stressed me completely and left me feeling on top of the world for the rest of the day. Dancing around my living room, my mind and body were completely transported. One minute I was at a street carnival, the next I was strutting a catwalk or defying gravity on the moon.
Groove was, and still is, the most uplifting, liberating thing I’ve ever done. My heart instantly wanted to share that joy, so I trained to become a live Groove facilitator, helping others to let go and dance with zero pressure or judgement.
Every day, I love getting to share these different experiences with our local community. If you are looking for your own place to switch off, build confidence, or simply lift your spirits, I would love to help you find whichever style of movement feels right for you.
